L ADIES AND GENTLEMEN, — In response to the request of many of my fellow townsmen, I beg to announce myself as a Candidate for your suffrages at the forthcoming Harbor Board Election. I have lived amongst you for many years, and you all know that my sympathies arc wholly in the interests of our district. TO THE ELECTOES COUNTY HAEBOE DISTEICT.
adies and Gentlemen,For the fifth time I beg to solicit your votes at the forthcoming election. I have had the pleasure of representing the County on the Harbor Board for the past eight years, and duriug the whole of this period I have most assiduously attended to the business of the Board. I have been a strong advocate for progress in Harbor works, at the same time endeavoring to economise in every possible direction the funds of the Board. I look upon the great improvements which have taken place fn our port with considerable pleasure, and trust the electors take the same view. If returned' again, I shall endeavor to continue the improvements we are making, feeling confident the result .will be such as to enable the Board to reduce rates and wharfages to a considerable extent. ' I also desire to state that I believe if the works are not continued the time and expense already incurred will in a large measure be lost. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient servant,; D. HEPBUKN. TO THE RATEPAYERS AND RESIDENTS OF THE BOROUGH OF GISBORNE. and Gentlemen, If you think I can in any way serve your interests by a season the Harbor Board, I shall be pleased to accept your wishes on that behalf on the day of election. As an old servant for many years on the Borough Council, also the Harbor Board in the early days, my action then may possibly influence and determine yours now. My interests are identical with your own, and your mark of approval on polling day shall, as heretofore, claim my best efforts on your behalf. Sanguine o your approbation. Yours faithfully, .... ' J.
