The Pacific Cable.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, last night. Mr Crick says the statement that Canada' has withdrawn from the Pacific cable agreement is ridiculous. The contract has been signed by the Imperial Government. The line will have to be constructed under any circumstances. He added that the statement appeared to have been made on the strength of a cable received a couple of days ago to the effect that if Canada had known the conditions of the contract were altered it would have considered whether it would continue its obligations in connection with the scheme,
