Wellington Education Board.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. At to-day’s meeting of the Education Board a resolution was passed that in every case the engagement of pupil teachers shall terminate when they have completed the full year in the status of fifth-year teachers. The resolution waspassed, in order to assist the Board’s finances, it at present having a yearly expenditure of £ISOO in excess of the amount paid by other Boards to pupil teachers. A re-adjusted scale of salaries submitted by the Education Department to the Education Board was considered by the latter body. The members intimated that they were unable to sec what course had been followed by the department in making the allocations, and decided to appoint a committee to confer with the Minister on the subject. '
