London, Jan. 25. Victoria has asked Mr Chamberlain if he considers the proposed concession to the Eastern Extension Cable Company unfair to the Pacific cable. Meanwhile Sir A. Clarke has not signed the agreement with the Company. A meeting of the Cable Board has been summoned. The warship Plover has been sent to Elliot and Blonde Islands to suppress pirates, who captured a number of junks, Admiral Alexieff protested that the action was unwarrantable, as the islands be. longed to Russia. Admiral Seymour has referred the matter to the Home Government.
