Proclamation ceremonies were held at Edinburgh, Oxford, Cambridge, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Derby, Cardiff, Gibraltar, and Newfoundland, and drew large crowds. An immense crowd at Dublin sang “ God save the King” with enthusiasm.
