“ If wo get anot lier week like the last the road from Makaraka to Matawhero will bo almost impassable,” -remarked Cr Jcx-Blakc at the County Council meeting yesterday. “We must attend to the main roads, for they are the chief ones in the district.” The road in question certainly requires attention, being full of holes and ruts from the Makaraka Hotel to the Royal Oak Hotel corner. The Council decided to metal the road. The Patutahi Road Board call tenders for cleaning out road and outlet drains, section 1 being at Papatu, section 2, at township, section 8 Patutahi Valley.
