BUTCHERS’ DISPUTE SETTLED,
TRADE UNPROFITABLE,
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. The Conciliation Board met to-day to hear the dispute between the Dunedin' and Suburban Co-operative Butchers’ Union and the Master Butchers. Atter the representatives of both parties had put their views before the Board it was agreed to hold a conference, the result being that later on it was announced that an understanding had been arrived at with regard to the matters in dispute. The Union, however, has yet to notify approval of the agreement, During the hearing of the case it was stated that, notwithstanding the large increase in retail prices for meat, the butchering business did not pay, and it was stated in support that rcceny.ly thirteen butchers in the city and suburbs had to give up business.
