Fire at Wellington.

Two three-storey warehouses in Willis street, those of Messrs Wrigglesworth and Binns, photographers, and the Singer Sewing Machine Company, were totally destroyed by a fire which broke out at five o’clock this morning. It is presumed to have started in the middle floor of Wriggleaworth’s, at the back. Luckily, it was dead calm, and the Fire Brigade were ahle to prevent the spread of the flames to the adjoining buildings. The insurances on Messrs Wrigglesworth and Binns’ building, owned by Mr Jacob Joseph, were £I6OO in the Commercial Union, with re-insurances £2OO in the London and Lancashire, £l5O Victoria, £SOO South British. Singer’s building was also owned by Mr Joseph, and was insured for £2500 in the Commercial Union, re-insured to the extent of £350 in the Sun, £250 in the Alliance, £l5O in the Standard, £2OO in the London and Lancashire, £250 in the Australian Alliance, £250 in the Norwich Union, and £250 in the Liverpool and London and Globe. The contents of Wrigglesworth and Binns were insured for £4OO in the Alliance and £l3O in the Standard. The contents of Singer’s are said to be insured in a Sydney office,
