A Settler’s Complaint,

THE EDITOR GISBORNE TIMES. Sir,— Last session of Parliament-there was a great battle between the town and country members regarding relief to be given. to Crown tenants. I was under the impression that the country members had won, and that the poor settlers had been relieved._ I am afraid, however, that it was only an impression of a disorganised brain, perhaps the result of the relief of Mafeking, or the relief of Ladysmith, or the relief of somebody else. Whenever will we get over the effects of these celebrations? When I went to pay my rent to-day my nerves received a fearful shock when I was told that there was no relief for ■ A Struggling Settler.
