LONDON WOOL SALES.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Jan. 16. The Balme-Buxton-Jacombs joint catalogue of wool comprised 7826 bales. There was a crowded attendance of buyers. A good selection of merinos was offered, for which strv’**' Continental competition existed, prices being from 5 to 51- per cent above the November rates. Crossbreds were in less demand, but fine showed from par to 5 per cent advance. For medium, low, the prices were unchanged. The Union Bank has declared a dividend of 7 per cent. The reserve fund stands at £25,000, of which there has been carried forward £22,189.
