Sydney, Jan. 13. The Roberts’ match was won by Bell, of Bathurst, with 67, J. Wilson being eighth, winning a prize of £6 with 62; Robinson and Winslade £2 each. The Victorian match was won by Boss, of Victoria, with 34; Ballinger was third, £lO, with 32, Gatland £2, Evans £l. In the New South Wales match Pearsons, Winslade, McCarthy, and Ballinger won £1 each. In the Empire match Queensland, 593, were first; Bathurst, 572, second; Bendigo and New South Wale 3 No. 2 team, 551, taking £24. A strong wind was blowing and the New Zealand first team picked on shooting went all to pieces on the first range, Winslade losing four ’shots, and MacGregor six shots through lack of time. The second team Bhot very well at the three ranges, 70 , 800, and 900 yards. The Mlowiag are the second team’s score: Loveday 79, Cox 7b, Ingpen 74, Wilson and Fielding 73, McKattie 66, Getland 63, King and Steadman 62. Obituary: Dr Byrne, Catholic Bishop of Bathurst.
