Dogs and Mongrels.
To the Editor of the Times. , Sm, —Are you a cyclist, driver, horseman, or pedestrian ? If so, I would invite you in any of the above capacities to proceed from your office as far as the post office, and I wiP wuger that you do not get half the distano - without being blocked in some way, owing t the number of dogs, or mongrels, that ar continually about our streets. I have see . ladies trying to dodge past them on the footpath and finally have to take to the road, and even there they were not'safe from falling on them. I believe we. have more of the canine specimens in Gisborne than any other two towns put together. I. will also say that not onetenth of them have collars on to show that they are registered; they appear to belong to the town generally,, and no one in particular. I would like' you to take up the subject, of stray dogs and mongrels, and see if something cannot be done to abate the nuisanoe, for the sake of my fellow subjects, and myself in partiuulw.—l am, etc., Emu,
