Cmgley moved for judgment for Hie plaintiff, hut counsel toi the defendant. Air. B. C- Haggil.t raised an alternative defence that such debts having been contracted by gaining anc wagering, therefore, were null and void under imperial legislation under the Gaming Net, New Zealand, and ns ameiidmer.*-. . , . Mr urn-ire Christie will hear legal argument on the issue raised by the defence when the Court tesumes today.
