JET- PROPULSION

ENGINE MANUFACTURE PLANS FOR AUSTRALIA CANBERRA, May 27. The Federal Cabinet has increased from £795,000 ot £965,000 the amount to be spent on the manufacture in Australia of jet-propulsion engines. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. B. Chifley, said that Cabinet had authorised the building of 50 Vickers Vampires and 60 Rolls-Rovce Ncne turbo-jet engines. Six engineers of the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation who had studied jetpropulsion had returned to Australia.
