SEPARATION ORDER
MAINTENANCE GRANTED A separation order l'or 12 months, and a maintenance order of 30s a week for the same period, were granted to Margaret Polkinghorne (Mr. K. A. Woodward) by Air. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court in Gisborne. In the Magistrate's Court in March. Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., had granted Mrs. Polkinghorne a separation and maintenance order against her husband, Vivian Polkinghorne (Mr. C. J. O'Regan), and yesterday's verdict followed an appeal by Polkinghorne against the magistrate's decision. Evidence was given by both parties that there had been some rows since they were married in Wellington early in 1945. Early last year Airs. Polkinghorne left her husband after a quarrel over a child whom she was looking after, and had come to Gisborne. Polkinghorne stated that he wished his wife to return to him.
