CLAIMS PROCEDURE NEW ZEALAND NATIONALS EARLY ACTION ADVISED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 28. Upon the conclusion of the treaties of peace with Italy. Rumania. Bulgaria and Hungary, negotiations would be undertaken with a view to a settlement of the claims of New Zealand nationals against these former enemy States and their nationals, and for the restoration of the property rights and interests of New Zealand nationals in those States, said the Prime Minister, Mr. P. Fraser, yesterday. _ , It was-important that New Zealand nationals having claims against these States which had not yet been registered with the custodian of enemy property or having any property rights or interests in respect of which it was desired to make a claim for restitution should obtain the requisite form from the custodian of enemy property immediately. . , , .. Any claim not received by the custodian 'by June 15, 1947, would be liable to exclusion. All claims must be accompanied bv a statement of the claimant’s nationality and, if the claimant is a British subject by naturalisation, the letters of naturalisation must be produced in support of the claim. Claims from persons granted naturalisation subsequent to the date of the armistice with the respective States could not be admitted.
