WOOL DISCUSSIONS

CONFERENCE IN PARIS N.Z. TO BE REPRESENTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 28 Proposals for an international exchange of students and workers, the French' plan for importation under compensation, and wool labelling are on the agenda for important international wool talks to be held in Paris in June, according to advice just received by the New Zealand Wool Board. The wool industries of several countries, including Britain, are sending official delegates to the conference of the International Wool Textile Organisation from June 9 to 13, and delegates will also be present from the International Wool Secretariat. During the same week the advisory committee of the I.W.S. and the secretariat’s consultative committee for France are also meeting in Paris. The official delegates of the I.W.S. to the International Wool Textile Organisation’s conference are Dr. E, Booth, chairman, and Mr. R. G. Lund, New Zealand representative. The scientific and technical committee of the 1.W.T.0. will consider, among other matters, the possibility of an international agreement on methods for measuring the diameter and length of wool fibres, for assessing quality, and methods of measurement of the uniformity of yarns.
