TOKOMARU BAY NEWS
The W.D.F.U., Tokomaru Bay. has received £5 from Mr. J. Chino, Te Puka. as a donation to the final night of the euchre tournament. This is the third occasion on which Mr. Chino has madq a donation. The winners of the aggregate prizes in the tour-* n ament were Messrs. R. Ryland, Koro Pewhairangi and Gabble Pewhairangi, Mesdames T. Ngawai, T. Nepia and T. Parata. The first prize of JES, order in the W.D.F.U. competition, went to Mrs. Hairy Sad He r, with Jawbe Hale second, and Mrs. J. White third. Several garments have been made and packed by members of the W.D.F.U. for dispatch to refugees in London, including a beautiful home-made quilt by Mrs. G. Ngawai. . Sir Apirana and Lady Ngata spent a night at Te Aruru, where they were the; guests of the local Maoris.—Mr. and Mrs. \Vi Clarke are spending three weeks in Auckland with their son and daughter-in-law, Lieutenant and Mrs. Waka Clarke.
