4000 LB. BOMBS USED PANTELLARIA SHELLED MALTA FIGHTERS' SWEEP ill a.m.) LONDON, June 4. Reports from the Middle East show that there has been no relaxation ol the Allied attacks on Italian bases. The Royal Navy has again taken pari, having again shelled the island ol Pantellaria without suffering damage or casualties. The principal target ol the latest bombing raids was the city of Naples. “Block-busters” o£ 40001bs, fell among industrial plants and port buildings when Wellingtons raided Naples on Wednesday night. No enemy fighters were encountered. A Malta air communique states: “During a sweep over the Comiso area yesterday, Royal Air Force lighters destroyed two MEIOEJs and damaged several others.” Malta had lour alerts to-day.
