GISBORNE CONTRACTS
MAIN VARIETIES ONLY MEETING OF GROWERS Contract prices the Internal Marketing Department is offering Gisborne vegetable growers were placed -before a meeting of grower:, and intending growers held last night, when Mr. J. D. Kennedy. instructor at Gisborne, occupied the chair. There, was an attendance of more -than -40, of whom 16 were members of the Chinese community. Explanations of the scheme were made by Messrs. R. G. C; Ffitch and A. M. W. Grcig,. who stated that' onlysix vegetables were included in the stabilisation ■ ■ war- prices 1 order. Main crop prices offered to the Gisborne growers'last night were. as. follows: Main season carrots-, £'lo. ■per. ton: spring carrots, £29; parsnips, £l2 10s; summer cabbage, £8 10s; winter cabbage, £lO 10s; spring cabbage, £l6.
