AIR POWER USED FIRST

ALLIED PLANS ON TIME COMBINED ASSAULT LATER (10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 3. “Invasion operations in Europe have already definitely begun—quite obviously we are leading off with the air weapon,” said Brigadier-General Daniel Noce, an expert in landing operations, who recently was appointed to the general staff in the European theatre operations of the United States Army. BrigadierGeneral Noce added: “Each step ol everything that has happened is a happening that was planned months ago. We are simply on schedule with this operation, and I mean on schedule in the present tense.” Brigadier-General Noce added that the next phase would be the final phase wherein land, sea and air power would be combined —and the end would be unconditional victory.
