ALLEGED TRICKSTER
EMPLOYED BY STATE EXPLANATION SOUGHT (P.R.) WELLINGTON, this day, Attetnion to,- an article which appeared in a weekly journal recently was drawn by Mr. J. A. Lee (Dem. Lab.. Grey Lynn) in notice of a question to the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives. Mr. Lee said that the article alleged that a confidence trickster from Mt. Eden was authorised by the National Security Department to stay in Rotorua, spend public money, and build up files against innocent people. He asked whether this was correct and if so whether the person mentioned would be brought to trial and whether the Prime Minister would state how the National Security Department was controlled and also whether the estimates of expenditure would be presented to Parliament.
