NEW ARMOUR PLATE
CANADIAN'S INVENTION (3 p m.) OTTAWA, Oct. .16. The Canadian Press reports that Mr. Leo Sullivan has invented and a local company developed a new type of armour plate capable of withstanding a .45 calibre machine-gun bullet at short range. An option over. the process, which transforms the cheapest grade steel into first-rate plate, has been offered a large American steel company. In recent tests machine-gun bullets o r‘Jy dented the plate.
