AIR FORCE BAND

VISIT TO GISBORNE The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band will arrive at Gisborne’' on Saturday; October 24; by the everting train. The band has recently- completed a- tour of the- South-Island, and it is expected that it’will'be 1 in ’ very good playing- order. Of the’ ,64 members of the band, 15 have been allocated billets' so far, - but it - is' hoped that residents" will come 1 forward readily and ‘provide accommodation for the remainder 1 within the' next few' clays. Advance representatives of the band are expected to arrive at, Gisborne next Tuesday, when; final arrangements will be made for the following programme: Sunday evening, concert in the Opera House; Monday; a'visit to the'MemoHal Home* in the morning, in the afternoon a marching display and gala' performance in , conjunction with the'’ Air Training Col-ps oh' the Childers Road Reserve, and in the evening- a ball in' the City Hall; at which the R.N.Z.A.F. Dance Band will play, this function being arranged by the Gisborne Squadron of the Air Training Corps; Tuesday morning, visit to High School, Tuesday evening, a concert in the Opera House: Wednesday afternoon, visit to the Cook Hospital, and Wednesday evening, a ball in the City Hal).
