EXTENSION OF TIME LOSS OF NATIONALITY (9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 16. President Roosevelt signed legislation amending the American Nationality Act, 1940. Under the law as it previously stood, naturalised American citizens living abroad would Rave definitely lost their citizenship after residing three years .in the country of their former allegiance, or five years in any other country outside the United States. The new Act postpones the enforcement of this provision until October 14, 1944. „
