AIR-RAID SHELTERS

E.P.S. GIVEN CONTROL USAGE AND OCCUPANTS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Power for the E.P.S. authorities to determine the times and circumstances at which air-raid shelters may be used was contained in an amendment gazetted last night to the emergency shelter regulations, 1942. The amendment also enables the E.P.S. authorities to determine what number of persons may use any shelter and the manner in which the occupants of the shelter shall conduct themselves while in it. The usual penalties are provided for any breach.
