The theft of a knife the property ot Theo Nicholas -was admitted by Geoffrey Charles Goodall, aged 18, before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Gisborne Magistrate’s Court to-day. Senior-Sergeant H. El. Russell stated that the defendant removed' the knife from a cafe. Mr. E. T. Brosnahan, for the defence, said the young man had never been in trouble before, and was now waiting to go into camp., He asked for suppression of the. name. Gbodall was admitted to probation, but the order for the suppression of the name was refused.
