Acceptors for the principal events at the V.A.T.C. meeting on Saturday are as follows: — ■ Caulfield Guineas. —Amazed, Bayard, Chatfield, Dennis, James, Emphatic, Grain Trader, Great Britain, Harol, Huntingdale, Illyrain, Lea Hero, Manatoto, Mosfino Parida, Philip Quezon, Register, William the Conqueror, Carruea, Nalong, Whitcline. Thirty-two survived the 'final acceptance for the’Toorak Handicap. It is impossible to start so many. The Government regulations prohibit more than seven races in one day. The present programme comprises seven so that the club is faced with the alternative of balloting horses for the Toorak Handicap or to divide that event and delete the hurdle race from the programme. As a result of his gpod form in the Melbourne Stakes, connections of The Trapper are giving consideration to starting him in the Caulfield Cup. A decision will be made following his effort in the Toorak Handicap on Saturday. ~ The Melbourne Cup candidate, Wise Counsel, after a week’s absence following a leg injury, worked freely.
