CZECH GUERRILLAS
TOLL OF AXIS TROOPS TRAINS BLOWN UP (British Official Wireless.) (10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 13. Guerrillas in Ruthenia continue to harass the Hungarian and German troops, according to a summary of their activities in September, which reached London yesterday. In the past year they have killed some thousands of German and Hun garian soldiers, some of whom were stationed in their country to police it and others en route to the eastern front. Three long trains filled with soldiers and munitions going to Russia were blown up last month by hand grenades and petrol bottles. Several guerrilla groups are led by officers of the former Czechoslovak Army. Twice last month they swooped on mixed German-Hungarian commissions, who were forcibly enlisting villagers for slavery in Germany. In both cases all members of the commissions were killed. Hungarians who occupied this Czech province after Munich have still further lowered their bread ration.
