NAPIER STATION

NEW ONE REQUESTED

. “With tjre completion .of the Gisborne railway and the opening up of a service which will, increase the amount of goods for overseas carried between Qisborne and Napier, and with passenger traffic developing,,,proper facilities are required, at the terminus, .and I consider the chamber as fully justified in bringing the matter before the Minister of Railways,” said Mr. W. N. Harvey at a meeting, of the Napier Chamber of Commerce, in advocating that a modern railway, station be built at Napier. Facilities were -'totally inadequate for the present service, he said, and with the cargo and passenger traffic increasing daily Napier would be used more frequently.

Mr. A. W. 11. King , endorsed the views of Mr. Harvey, saying the existing station was inadequate to receive the consignments that would be arriving in the near, future.
