INDEPENDENCE CLAIM

> INDIAN POLITICAL BODY

(10.30 a.m.) NEW DELHI, Aug. 31. ■ The Mahasabha working committee after a six-hour discussion, appointed a sub-committee to prepare a draft resolution, which it will consider tomorrow, on Mahasabha’s attitude to the political situation. The discussion revealed that members generally favour an immediate declaration of Indian independence with a national government, representing all parties, and taking over all Federal powers. A Lucknow communique announced that nine persons are believed to have been killed when the police fired on a mob 200 strong attempting to attack a railway station between Tiindla and Hathras.
