YESTERDAY’S FUNERAL VICTIM OF ACCIDENT. . The funeral of the late Miss Isabell D. Miller, who was killed in an accident in Wainui road on Friday night, was , one qf the largest seen in Gisborne for some time, and when it passed through the business area from her home in Kaiti yesterday afternoon hundreds of people lined the streets, some of the business men closing their doors until the cortege had passed, with two traffic inspectors at its head. At the gates of the Taruheru cemetery the hoarse was met by 31 members of the Women's Auxiliary Corps under Miss C. Kay, commandant. Miss Miller had been a member of the auxiliary since its formation two years ago, and had arranged to leave yesterday for a military camp to take a women's artillery course. After marching with the hearse to the graveside in a display that attracted the admiration of all who witnessed it, the Women’s Auxiliary Corps lined up for the casket to pass through to the grave, where the service was conducted by the Rev. H. A. Gould, who had also presided at the service held in the house prior to the departure of the funeral. Large numbers of floral tributes from friends and organisations she had been connected with were carried to the graveside, the wreaths being so numerous , that a special conveyance had to be provided. Pall-bearers were Messrs. A. Campbell, E. Corbett, D. and D. Miller, D. Ferguson, D. Ritchie, I). Campbell.and D. Lamont.
