OBITUARY

MR. WILLIAM SCRAGG

■ One of Patutahi’s well known residents, Mr. William Scragg, died at his residence, Swathmoor road, : Patutahi, yesterday. • - t< - ' Mr. Scragg, who was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Scragg, Was born in Patutahi 59-years ago and lived in the Plffiitahi district all his life. • For'a time he waft' a cartage contractor, and then undertook farming, which had claimed Tils attention ever since. • • Left to mourn their loss are his Wife, formerly Miss Sarah " Hoore, whom Mr. Scragg married in Patutahi, and one son, Mr. R. Scragg. There are also four brothers and two -sisters, Messrs. G. and C. Scragg, Patutahi, Mr; H. Scragg, Tolaga -Bay, Mr. B. Scragg, Wairoa, Mrs. R. Habgood, Wairoa, Mrs. R. Atkins, Patutahi. The interment will take place at the Patutahi cemetery to-morrow, following a service at the house at 2 p.m. MRS. FANNY TOSLAND The death of Mrs. Fanny Tosland occurred in Whakatane yesterday. Mrs. Tosland was Well known in Gisborne, having resided here for 40 years before she went to live in Whakatane three or four years ago. She ' Was the '-wife of the late Mr. Thomas Tosltind, who was well known in the old couching clays in this district,
