WAIKOHU COUNTY
E.P.S. TRAVELLING The Waikohu County Council, at its annual meeting in Te Karaka yesterday, decided to pay the travelling expenses of the district representatives of E.P.S. committees attending- meetings of the central committee. Mr. C. J. Watton, having left the council’s service; wrote offering his house on the Koranga road for sale to the council.—The matter was referred to the riding member and engineer, who were asked to report to next meeting; . Mr. R. B. Baird. Matawai, wrote giving permission" to the council to put a drain through his property. Ratepayers on the- Makaretu road wrote asking for some metal to be spread on their road.—-The request was referred to the engineer for attention. • ;
Mr. C. K. - Evans, manager of Tahora station, wrote asking, for a bridge to be built over the Tahora creek.—lt was' decided to reply that bridgihg materials were unobtainable, but the engineer had been instructed to attend to the road; and.ford. The Surveyor-General wrote .asking if the council had any objectibns to the proclamation of a road line in the Tapuihikitia C. block.—The council raised no objection. Messrs. Nolan and Skeet submitted a claim for £4186 17s 6d for land taken for the Gisborne aerodrome.— The chairman arid county clerk were authorised to confer with the representatives of the other two contributing bodies, "> Those present at the meeting were Mr. A. A. Fraser, chairman, Messrs. H. H. Dods. M. Doyle. H. C. Boys. H. J. F. Tombleson, and J. B. Williams.
