LATIN AMERICAN ATTACK PLANS DEEPLY LAID (Reed. Jan. 12, 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Jan 11. The New Yorks Times’ city correspondent says that the Government possesses a document in which a Spanish secret agent describes his collaboration with the Germans to prepare armed resistance to the United States through Latin America. The Spanish Government Falange organisation is doing everything to assist a German victory, especially a German attack on South America from the Spanish African colonies and coastal islands, plans for which have long been made. He asserts that that Racist forces in Latin America have received arms from Spain and constitute a formidable striking force. Mexican officials are preparing to cope “fifth column” sabotage outbreaks which they expect shortly to occur. Oil storage tanks, pipelines, and harbours are under triple guard. An explosion totally wrecked a powder factory, which- the owner says, was caused by sabotage. The Mexican radio intercepted an order from Japanese Imperial Headquarters instructing the navy to sink Mexican tankers at sight. The naval authorities thereupon have armed all tankers to repel attacks.
