They will be used for convoying, scouting and 'battle duty. Of less than 10,000 tons, .they are. capable of a speed of 20 knots.' They are fitted with a ■ flight-deck and alb the necessary equipment • They can be converted in 45 driys. Tlie navy' has ' not'discarded the policy of building-.large aircraft carriers. seven of which/ ; are ,in commission and 11 more are ‘building.
