A Washington message states that it has been officially disclosed that the United States, with the aid of the Royal Air Force, has started a campaign of dropping leaflets on occupied areas in France, stressing the historic friendship between the French and American peoples. The Royal Air Force dropped 1,380,000 pamphlets in the area and over 600,000 copies in the Lille area.
