MAKE POWER ALCOHOL DIVERSION OF PLANT (Reed. Jan. 10, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 9. The Government to-day ordered 00 per cent, of the nation’s distilleries to divert their facilities into the production of industrial alcohol. Mr. Donald Nelson, the director of priorities of the Office of Production Management, ordered that corn or grain distilling must .change over after January 15. The Office of Production Management spokesman said that a shortage of alcoholic beverages was not anticipated, since the quantity stored equal five years’ normal consumption.
