Contrast in Orange Prices
A striking contrast in the price of oranges in New Zealand and Australia was found by a traveller who recently returned from a holiday tour on the New South Wales coast. At Gosford, a township less than 50 miles from Sydney, oranges were on sale at 40 for Is, compared with prevailing Auckland prices of from 3d to 5d each.
