PREVIOUSLY REPORTED MISSING, BELIEVED PRISONER OF WAR, NOW REPORTED NOT MISSING. Brands, Sergt. Allan Ernest, Invercargill. Olsen, Pte. Leslie Arnold, Norsewood. Mr and Mrs T. Callaghan, Hansen Road, have received advice that their son, Thos. Callaghan, a well-known amateur boxer, has been wounded in the Libyan campaign and is now in hospital. He had been 12 months abroad, and had seen much service in that period. He will be remembered as a highly proficient boxer who twice won the featherweight championship of Gisborne, and probably had more contests than any other amateur in Gisborne over three or four years. When en route to the Middle East, he took part in a tournament on the transport, and was runner-up in the welterweight class.
