SERVICE APPEALS
COMMITTEE’S DIRECTION (Herald Correspondent.) "There has been some ■ confusion, from Wairoa to Woodville, which district we cover, regarding men called for service in the Territorials and the National Military Reserve and men called for collective training,” said the chairman, Mr. G. A. Maddison, at yesterday's sitting in Wairoa of the No. 7 .Area Man-Power Committee. “The position is that it is impossible to deal with all the appeals before the date sex down. In the case of-an appeal not being decided by the due date, a man must remain in his present occupation until the appeal is dealt with. This matter has now been clarified. In the case of any appeal having been lodged and not dealt with, the man concerned must stay in his occupation, irrespective of any instruction or advice he receives from the military authorities until that appeal has been disposed of.”
