The question of providing sufficient petrol to keep E.P.S. vehicles in good running order arid of supplying petrol to enable cars to be driven to mobilisation positions in the event of tin alarm was discussed at a conference attended by the Prime Minister, dib Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, the Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan,, the Minister of National Service, the t-lon. R. Semple, the Chief of the General Staff, the Quartermaster-General and the Oil Fuel Controller.

Following this, a discussion took place between the Mayor of Wellington, Mr T. C. A. Hislop, the Minister of National Service, the Quartermas-ter-General and the Oil Fuel Controller. Certain detailed matters were left in the hands of the Oil Fuel Contrailer, the E.P.S. transport controller. Mr L. S. Drake, and Mr E. A. Batt chairman of the executive of the Wellington Automobile Association, for finality.

The Mayor said He was confident that as a result of discussions petfol would be made available * for cars engaged in E.P.S. service.
