PRISONER IN ITALY

BRIGADIER HARGEST, M.P. (Per Press Association.) . Wellington, this day. Advice has been received by Mrs. J. Hargest that her Husband, Brigadier J. Hargest,, M.P., is a prisoner of war in Italy arid that he is well. ~The rie;ws was contained in a cablegram from the apostolic delegate in Sydney, to the Minister of Defence. The adViqe came from the Vatican. Brigadier Hargest was taken prisoner in the Libyan campaign when his headquarters were over-run by the liazi mechanised forces. He is in a prison gamp with other high officers who W'ere taken prisoners in the Nazi counter-offensive in Libya last June.
