Ryegrass Seed Harvest

Threshing has commenced already in the ryegrass seed harvest in the Gisborne district. A paddock on Mr. J. Atkins’ farm was cut eight days ago, and to-day the header harvester, the first of its kind in the district, entered the paddock, picking up the seed heads, threshing, bagging and throwing out the straw in the one operation. The machine made fast progress, and .as this was the first try-out of the header harvester on a ryegrass paddock in the district, it was watched with much interest.
