ASSAULTS BY A FINN WOMAN AND THREE MEN (l J er Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. “If all the Finns were like this man, it is no wonder the Russians are. retreating,” said the magistrate. Me. O R. Orr Walker, in the Police Cburt today, referring to a Finn of powerful physique, Arnor Gohannes Fagerholm, aged 30, a motor driver, who was charged with assaulting two men, a woman and a police constable and also using obscene language. He pleaded guilty. The police said that at 10 p.ni. on December 21 Fagerholm and a woman had a difference in front of a city boardinghouse. He knbeked her down. When bystanders protested he assaulted them and had to be handcuffed by a constable. On arrival at the police station he assaulted a constable.
Remarking that Fagerholm had a long list of previous convictions, the magistrate sentenced him to one month on each of four assault charges, the terms to be cumulative. On the obscene language charge he was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within a year.
