The French Senate unanimously passed the Budget Speaking during the debate the Minister of Finance. M. Reyitiaud. -said that during the year the volume ot production and export had increased by 20 per cent. Unemployment was the lowest for six years. Capital steadily flowed back to France, £340,000,000 having returned during the year. Social order had been. restored. The civil Budget would be balanced and all the expenditure met by taxation, including £118,000,000 for indirect war expenses. Other war expenses were being met by loans.
