“WOULD GO AGAIN"

DIGGERS TO THE WAR “Most of us if we had the bodies to stand up to it would willingly go again to the war,” said Mr. J. K. Moloney at the Christmas smoke concert in Christchurch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, when replying to the toast of “The Diggers.” There had been since the last war, he said, too much of a tendency to make much of the damage to men that mechanised warfare could do. and not to make enough of the great background of happiness and comradeship which flip Diggers of the last war brought back. There was a pacifist feeling about now, and it ought to be eradicated. (Applause.) Courage did not change, and there was no doubt that the men of to-day could give just as good an account of themselves as their predecessors. The old virtue of patriotism still held its place of value among the virtues, he said.
