FORTY FEARED LOST
CREW OF MEAT SHIP , VICTIMS OF TORPEDO (Reed. Dec. 28, 2 p.m.) CAPETOWN, Dee. 27. Eight survivors were landed i'rom the meat ship Navasota which was torpedoed in the Bay of Biscay on December 5. The remaining 40 members of the crew are believed to have been drowned. A survivor described the torpedoing as mass murder.
