XMAS EVE DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) A very successful Scouts dance was held on Christmas Eve in the Hauiti Hall, which had been gaily decorated. A song was sung by Miss Mana Thompson, and tap-dancing numbers by Master S. Haeri and Miss G. Thompson. The music was supplied by Messrs. G. Karepa and B. Gray, and Misses B. Marino and L. Poutu. Mr. Rangiuia acted as M.C. A delicious supper was served by the Indies, assisted by the Scouts. Mr. Major Jackson made a speech and gifts were presented to the Boy Scouts. Those present included Mesdames K. Tautau, Gray, Williams, Noanoa, Whatuira. Christian, Tahata, Marino, Morriss. Jones, J. Thompson. R. Tangahou, 11. Gray, Poutu. B. King, P. Ngairo, and 11. Amaru; Misses J.] Jackson, O. Lincoln, G. Thompson, M. Thompson, H. Thompson, F. Tuhiwai, T. Morris, M. Blakely, C. Gillies, L. Poutu, M. Poutu. A. Jones, A. Wright, S. Gray, S. Temple, B. Marino, R. Hauwaho, M. Paipa, B. Walker, L. Jackson and S. Karini. Messrs. T. Tangahou, J. Thompson. A. Wanoa, on Christmas leave from Trentham, also were present at the dance. Surprise Party A jolly surprise party visited the home of Mrs. de Montalk to bid farewell to Mr. Ken. de Montalk. The drawing-room was artistically decorated with bowls of mixed flowers. Mrs. de Montalk received her guests wearing a frock of black georgette and lace. Miss E. de Montalk was dressed in black taffeta. A delicious supper was served by the lady guests. Among those present were Mrs. de Montalk. Mr. and Mrs. Mason; Misses E. Reeves, J. and H. Donald, M. Shepherd, I-I. Percy, U. and I. MacDonald and E. de Montalk; Messrs. K. de Montalk. W. Morton, E. Hetton, S. Thornton, B. and J. Irving, K. Smith, R. Russell and H. Martin. Mrs. J. Kinder and Miss Taylor, Gisborne, are the guests of their brother. Mr. F. Taylor.—Mrs. Fraser. Auckland, is the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fraser. Tolaga Bay.—Mr. and Mrs. Bevan, Dunedin, are the guests of the latter's parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Milne. Mr. C. Milne, Wairoa. and Mr. J. Milne, Gisborne, are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milne, Tolaga Bay.—Mr. and Mrs. G. Tucker. Foxton. have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Craiil.—Mrs. Roscoe and her children, Rhondda and Derwent, of Auckland, are visitors to Tolaga Bay.—Miss N. James, Gisborne, has been staying with her parents.
