The second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting was held at Ellerslie in ideal weather yesterday. The attendance was 14,000. The track was in good order. The totalisator handled £09,026, compared with £57,868 on the second day last year. The turnover for the two days was £200,080, compared with £171.993 10s last year, an increase of £28,086 10s. The stewards held an inquiry into alleged interference by Queen City, involving Cillas and Happicoat, in the Criterion Handicap, and found the incident to be accidental.
